Last night, D and I were playing with Miss A’s Peter Rabbit, hiding him behind our back and looking for him (but we just couldn’t find him). Miss A was delighted. She squealed with delight as we hid him around the room, in her shoes, stroller, cart, etc. During a pause in the game she asked for “more silly games.” Of course we obliged.
All of this happened after Miss A and I knocked heads while playing on the floor. Miss A was concerned – “Mommy crying” (I wasn’t but she was obviously concerned). Then she left, saying she had to get something, and I heard her feet run off. I thought she was getting something to make me feel better. I heard her coming back, looked up and she was carrying a “shovel” (aka spatula) which she used to try to pry me off the ground. I couldn’t stop laughing.
The “silly games” happen all of the time. The other day she got into her Flinstone car and waved bye-bye. Then she jumped out to give us hugs and kisses good bye. After these embraces, she took a few steps, then came back saying “Just one more time, and that’s it!” as she came back for more hugs and kisses. She did this over and over again. It melted our hearts.
There are so many precious (and often funny) moments that happen every day. I hope I can get back into blogging to record at least a few of these moments.
It’s hard to believe it’s been 2 years since you were born. At times it feels like we’ve known you forever and at other times it seems like just yesterday I was holding you in my arms for the first time. I never imagined how overwhelming my love for you would be or how much joy you would bring to our lives. I love the person you are – you are sweet, loving, nurturing, and funny. You are enthusiastic and you love to laugh. You are easy going and (almost) always willing to go with the flow. You are such a special little girl. I love you, Miss A. Happy 2nd Birthday!
